Updated October 26, 2026. Peak arrived on PlayStation 5 on October 22, bringing crossplay so players can climb alongside up to three friends across supported platforms. The launch also brought the game to Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
Developed by Aggro Crab and Landfall, the cooperative climbing game casts players as stranded scouts trying to scale an island’s mountain. You can also attempt the ascent alone.
What the PS5 release includes
The developer announcement says the PS5 version includes the content updates, biomes and items added since the original launch. Custom runs let groups adjust the challenge, while hunger, injuries and environmental hazards complicate the climb.
The teamwork angle is practical: a struggling friend can need assistance, and injuries reduce stamina. A group’s plan has to account for everyone reaching the next safe stretch.
Before the group gets together
Check your regional platform store for availability and current purchase details. Landfall confirms that console online multiplayer requires the relevant platform subscription, while solo play works offline. Steam progress does not transfer to consoles, and PC mods are not supported for cross-platform sessions. Agree on whether the first session is for learning or a serious summit attempt, then choose settings the whole group is comfortable with.
A quick conversation about communication and pacing can prevent one experienced climber from setting an exhausting pace for everyone else. Treat the first run as a chance to learn how your group works together.
This is a launch preview based on the developer announcement, not a hands-on review or performance assessment of the PS5 build.
