October 27, 2026. Nintendo has given indie developers a little room on the calendar before Halloween. A new Indie World Showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 7:00 a.m. Pacific, with roughly 15 minutes of announcements and updates for Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch.
Fifteen minutes is barely enough time to make coffee and settle in, but that is part of the appeal. These presentations tend to skip the sprawling corporate stage show and get straight to games that might otherwise disappear beneath the bigger releases.
When to watch in Canada
For viewers in British Columbia, the stream begins at 7:00 a.m. PDT on October 28. That’s 10:00 a.m. Eastern. Nintendo is directing viewers to its official channels for the presentation; the Canadian Indie World hub is a useful place to start.
The company has described the show as a look at independent games coming to both Switch generations. It has not announced a lineup of featured titles, so any list of supposedly confirmed appearances should be treated as speculation until the presentation actually airs.
What is worth watching for?
For Switch 2 owners, the interesting question isn’t simply which games get announced. It’s whether developers explain what the newer hardware adds: smoother performance, different controls, or features that make a second purchase worthwhile. For original Switch owners, platform availability matters just as much. An indie game doesn’t need to be technically extravagant to be the best thing you play all weekend.
Keep an eye out for actual release dates, demos and surprise launches rather than getting carried away by a good trailer. We’ll know more once Nintendo shows the games. Until then, the useful information is refreshingly short: October 28, 7:00 a.m. Pacific, approximately 15 minutes, both Switch platforms.
