October 28, 2026. No Man’s Sky is leaning into Halloween with Forsaken, an update that combines unsettling salvage with new ways to build and operate corvettes.
In a launch-day post on Xbox Wire, Hello Games founder Sean Murray describes collecting haunted mementos from derelict hulks and infested outposts, then trading them for biomechanical corvette modules. Cosmetic rewards include a larva tank helmet and a larva cannon multi-tool.
More than seasonal decoration
The announced additions also include corvette cockpits, package courier missions, a radial weapon selector and a minimal HUD option for advanced players. Hello Games says players can also warp toward stars directly from the sky.
These are developer-described features. We have not tested the update or independently assessed its performance, progression balance or platform-specific behaviour.
Make the first session a short one
Before meeting friends, confirm that everyone has downloaded the update available for their platform. Start with a short session to locate the new activities and check controls rather than assuming every returning player will immediately recognize the changed interface.
If you are mainly interested in ship building, the new modules may be the clearest reason to investigate. If you prefer exploration, look beyond the seasonal styling to the navigation and interface changes. Neither angle substitutes for checking the current in-game instructions.
